The Bottom Line is that Indians live in a dream world of glamour and dont want to accept the reality of their country. Rich Businessmen and Bolywood Celebs think that they represent India. The Middleclass people who work at call centers and other companies think that they represent India but it is the vast number of poor Indians that represent India.

Do Indian people get free health and education from the government? Including free tertiary education? India has so many rich people and Bollywood itself is a money pit, so my big question is: does bollywood make any effort to help the poor who suffer in the slums?

Amitabh Bachchan could have done so much more to actually do something about India’s poverty. With this film, Amitabh should have taken solid leadership in actually changing life in the slums rather than become touchy about the ins and outs of the film and the response it received globally.

He could have achieved SO MUCH MORE if he had used his fame, the Bollywood industry and the film more constructively to improve peoples quality of life.

@y2..xyz Or British dude. It’s not about you or me. It’s just a comment on this. If your only defense for bigB is puking out four letter words on other subscribers then we know who needs a life. We don’t need to know your citizenship to judge this video. Your mamma didn’t teach you manners? We have got an umbrella and a “noise” cancelling headphone for your next puke rain.

Go get a life, he’s even more popular today than he was in the seventies he doesnt need the lime light, he refused the film on his principles. Media crave him not the other way round! A man cant express his opinion without being torn down, thats the real freedom in reality. Just bcoz the movie got recognized by white people it must be great right? Why arent other hindi movies treated the way slumdog was – its called a white director! Get a fucking life morons!

What planet are you on? Ofcourse Irfan is great but why the hating for big b, I completely agree with what he said, I am a british born indian who has travelled the world and always see western people wanting to see eastern poverty. They dont want to realise that the countries that were ruled by them are now just as powerful or more advanced than them. Get out of ur own rear and ask around. There are many movies like ‘slumdog…’ why arent they appreciated internationally?

Bachan wanted an oscar for himself, he wanted to play the millionaire host. I grew up watching Big Bachan, but i never thought he would say something like that, people need to be aware of the other side of india.

This is for Anil Kapoor & Irfan Khan
I Agree with BB 100% as I believe that this film has made mockery of Indian poverty indirectly if not directly. I believe this film may not pass the 100% commercial motive if put to public. You people are very wealthy then please take an extra step to produce another similar film to justify commercial motives as poverty do exist in other parts of the world also.

I like Anil , and to me he is better than Amitabh.
Amitabh was good when he was young and I still enjoy his movies.
He need to retire now, go for Tirat Yaatra.

Amitabh just wanted to hog any limelight even if the movie is totally unrelated. Used to love him in his 70s movies. Just seems like a politician/businessman now. The creativity is totally absent. He should crave for less media exposure to preserve his sanctity and value.

I don’t see why people are so negative about the film. Slumdog Millionaire was great, even if it did show India’s poverty and slums. I think it made India look good with the character of Jamal being so nice, and there were not any stupid sexual jokes or pointless sex scenes.

Amitab is just jealous. Why cant this old guy retire and step aside. He, inspite of his privileges never lifted a finger to help the poor, but now denies there is poverty in india and is all upset that the world gets to know the stark realities of india. What a hypocrite.
